Woah wtf Infintiy Ward??? So many Killstreaks. I think they are calling them point streaks too btw. What are your thoughts? Some look really ridiculous. Most return from MW2, plus a LOT of new ones. Be interesting to see how 'specialist' Killstreaks handles itself. To have all 15 perks would be neat. But with all these other killstreaks, how will you ever survive?? Were you thinking CAMP FTW IW!!??

Good stuff Dux, thanks for posting this. Man, it sure does add variety to the game, and niva says it's always the same. lol
I can't wait to pilot the AC130 again.

Marsh, I can't tell whether you're being serious or sarcastic, but I'm going to assume that you're being serious. All I see that are "changes" in this game are similar to sports games only updating the rosters. This is exactly the same, and all they're doing is adding more killstreaks and perks. I don't see that as a change one bit. At least with sports games, they have the decency to update and change the gameplay to make it a better game. With cod, all I see is the same gameplay over and over again. Instead of them adding more ways to extend one's killstreak/ kill death ratio, why not try and update the game. I'm not asking for anything drastic, just show that they at least care. The developers and especially Activision are lazy. They know that they can get away with this and not be frowned upon. Look at God of War for example, that game hasn't really changed, and people complain about that. But, let it be cod, and "everybody" is perfectly fine with it. Why? Because of name. Hell, FIFA probably sells more copies than cod, yet each version is drastically different and better than the previous. FIFA is popular all over the world, whereas cod is mainly popular in the West. It seems that they add more modes in each cod because they know that the game is lackluster, and by adding more modes, people will think that it's amazing. As much as I love Killzone 2, I'm glad Guerrila Games at least had the heart and guts to change their game. Sure, it was for the worse, but it's the thought that counts. I think that cod should add a killstreak for getting one kill, and have it be some sort of Strafing Run with an F16 or Warthog. That would be amazing. I have more to add, but I can't really think of them right now, lol. Red, in case you read this, and decide to jump on it, it's all my opinion. I know you got pretty pissed at me when you thought I was always making my statements as being "facts".

I'm sorry for polluting this thread with my hate, but Marsh, you did "call me out", lol.

I hope you guys enjoy the game!

Well, I still don't understand when people say it is the same game every year, because every other game is always the same when you put it that way. And online shooter series will only be the same if they did not add anything "new." How is FIFA different? You run around kicking a ball to score with different rosters. lol
Next thing you know they add abilities and killstreaks. >_<

COD will always be big, because of it's name yes, but I have never been a fanboy. The game has it's moments when it can be really fun. And from what everyone is saying and what I saw, this game WILL be different. There will be more gun on gun action, not many places where people can just camp. It is a completely new view on the game. The campaign has always been short and fun too (imo). Don't know about that being COD's fault that other games are shorter, considering I don't play many games.

The only time I see these developers being lazy is when they really don't listen to the players. All I personally ask for is that they give me dedicated servers, but apparently that will never happen unless I play on PC. BUT! They did get rid of second chance and commando, which is a huge plus for me, I know I will enjoy the game more now. And also, COD is the game where I have tons of people to party with. Been playing R3 by myself lately. sad
Since you didin't play COD, there were always updates coming out fixing a lot of bugs, that says they do care and try to fix things.

I know I will never change your mind niva, but if you want to talk about a game always being the same it is Battlefield. I looked at Battlefield 3 and that looked the same to me, and I liked BBC2. You have your classes, vehicles and then go arm and disarm a bomb on huge maps just like the first Battlefield.

Marsh, you have some excellent points. I wasn't trying to deter anyone away from cod. I know you like cod, which is why I mentioned that I hope all of you enjoy it.

FIFA is constantly changing in each of the versions. The gameplay has changed a lot from FIFA 11, and it shows. The players aren't stocky when they move, and everything is more fluid this time. In previous games they always claimed that the players have more movement, but it didn't show. As a result the previous FIFA games, the players seemed to only move fluidly in a few directions. Now, they move fluidly in full 360 degree motion. Before the collision system was a joke, now it makes sense, and actually works. That's the point I was making, there are many games out there that refine and update the gameplay, and not use the same formula all the time. I did mention God of War essentially being the same game, which is true. I agree with you on your statement that there are many games out there that don't "change". While playing the Uncharted 3 beta, I couldn't help, but think to myself that it's the same dumb multiplayer from Uncharted 2. The issues I had with Uncharted 2 were still prevalent in Uncharted 3, and I believe that my issues are actually supposed to be in the game; which makes no sense to me whatsoever.

In terms of online shooters, there are many out there that are "constantly" changing. Whether or not that's a good thing, I will leave that for everyone to decide. That's the point I was making before, just because some new killstreaks are added does not necessarily mean that it's a "new" game. If they really wanted to they could've updated their previous games with more abilities and killstreaks. Not only that, but they could also balance those issues in the previous games, instead of addressing them in later games. I know the cod development is done with many different teams/developers, but that is kind of unacceptable.

I did play cod. I wasn't in the clan, or any clan for that matter when I was dedicating my time with cod 4. They rarely sent any patches or letting the community know about any updates. I remember them stating that they were going to ban players who were changing the color on their name when playing, and I did not see anyone getting banned. Hell, I even changed the color on my name numerous times, and I never got banned, nor did I get a message from anyone telling me, that if I continue to do that I will get banned. I remember they did put out a patch nearly a year later, that barely addressed the issues with the game. The game is still a glitch/bug fest, and it has been since day 1.

The first Battlefield which is Battlefield 1942 never had any arming or disarming of bombs in any way. The same thing is true with Battlefield Vietnam, Battlefield 2, and Battlefield 2142. The only time I remember them adding a "rush" mode was on Bad Company, and that game is not really tied into the "true" Battlefield universe. I'm not sure if Modern Combat had a "rush" mode, or not, but if it did, then I guess that's where they first implemented it. The Bad Company series was made to compete with cod directly, and as a result it does not share many if any of the components that make a true Battlefield game. You could be right about Battlefield 3 being the same game, but I have to disagree with you if you believe that it's the same as Bad Company 2.

Look at Starhawk; they could've kept the game essentially the same as Warhawk, but they practically changed everything, and introduced new elements to the game.

Marsh, I would join you in Resistance 3, but I noticed that Insomniac did not give a damn about Resistance 3. I noticed this after completing the campaign, and it practically shows everywhere in the game. I could tell, that they just wanted to be done with the franchise and get ready for their multiplatform release. I used to like Insomniac games a lot, but in the last few years, it just seemed that they couldn't wait to be multiplatform. I think they would have been better off not doing Resistance 3, or let Sony pass the franchise to another developer. I know they were working on two games, but they also have two establishments. I'm pretty sure one was working on Ratchet and Clank, and the other was working on Resistance.

I wouldn't have a problem with cod if this were their third game with the same gameplay as the first Modern Warfare, but it just keeps dragging on. I view the cod franchise as Guitar Hero. Activision, is soon going to ruin the cod franchise, and may even trash the entire domain; similar to what they did with Guitar Hero. What I'm trying to say here is I wouldn't mind if they didn't change if this were their third game, but after awhile one would think that it's time for an update to the gameplay. I'm not all about change, and I do like some games when they don't change anything. Killzone 3 would've been and should've been better than Killzone 2 if they didn't listen to the people who aren't even Killzone fans.

Marsh, I understand that you have a lot of friends who you party with on cod, and I don't want my opinions to get the better of you. All of you know that I hate cod, and as a result I wouldn't want any of you taking my opinions too seriously, or seriously for that matter.

I'll try to refrain from starting arguments, or posting in threads about games that I don't like, or have no interest in. Sorry again for polluting the cod threads. I promise not to venture in them anymore.

It's all good niva! There are times when I hate the game (COD), but it's fun when you party with people.
I will let you know if I really like it or not. I like your points too, we will just see what the future holds. I didn't care too much about the campaign in R3 though, I haven't even finished it. The online is fun for me though, they have fixed a few things and it is enjoyable. Sucks we don't run around with a lot of BS! members, it saddens me. sad

I hate going 24-2 or better and still lose, because the people on my team are idiots. lol
Also, we aren't much of a clan if we can't find a game we all like. >_<

I think that's a problem with every clan, not finding a game that others like. With the exception being, that in some clans the members get the game(s) regardless of them liking it or not. Other times it's just a matter of policy that is present in a clan, and if a clan member fails to comply with it, they get booted.

It's all good, we're bound to get a game that everyone if not most of the people in the clan will enjoy. I'm looking at Uncharted 3, as it seems that a majority of the clan might be getting it.

I happen to go through phases with online gaming. One moment I like it, and the next I hate it.

I'm not really excited for any online game this year other than Battlefield 3 (which I'm not getting until a huge price drop, lol), and by my count it seems that I will probably be the only one from the clan on Starhawk.

As long as you have others to party up with, it compensates for the lack of clan members with the same game. I happened to party up with some big time clans in MAG and Killzone 3, and I learned quite a bit from them.

I'm sure many of the clan members are getting MW3, so you shouldn't be "alone".

I think i'll be one getting mw3. I found that I enjoy the games that you can easily just go in and beast and I've learnt that COD is the perfect game for doing this... As cheap as that sounds.

I don't really take variation into account as much in terms of scouting around with a squad, or needing another team-mate to kill multiple enemies. And i understand why so many people say COD is for noobs, same game as alwaysbla bla.. I just find it satisfying the way it plays. Also, you know you will have no problems finding games with the community it holds.

But till then, I'd most likely get U3 too beforehand.

Well looks like U3 it is. I know Guz is passing on MW3. I hope it's a little more playable than Blops if we party up Dux. :/

The people I played Blops with will definitely be getting MW3, so the more the better. I look back and can't believe I have about 16 days played on Blops and on the last prestige (15th). Damn! lol The reason is like I said, LOTS of people to party with. One plus side to COD, is the huge community.

Also, like Duxy said: you can always be sure to rape like crazy in a COD game, kind of cheap but it can be fun. The killstreaks this time around don't seem too powerful though.
