Im surprised you got a whole game in without it crapping out or freezing... lol - not quite so bad these days, but last night I got frozen on start screen at least 3 times, and in game freezes about that many times too.

Hope they figure that shit out soon.

Can't really find anything wrong w good old Kirara. Unfortunately, my obsession of Japanese pornography has drifted far into and beyond the nether regions of just a sensible appreciation of art - thats as far as Im willing to divulge at this point... haha. ha. oh boy.

3 things I like in this world, speed, cod, and boobies. Oh thatd be 4.

redham pulls out the 'porn' card. well played, sir.

about the Hauppauge. are u sure the problem is that its a japanese version? (not doubting u) in my case, i couldnt get the thing to work for probably 2 weeks. and that was with trying for hours every day, combing the net for clues, and just experimenting with shit. once i finally got it to work, i vowed never to mess with the settings again *or rather, the way to turn it on.

what was the other program u said u got? I-view?

Ehehehe. I might have some suggestions...

As for the HDPVR deal, I cant see that it being a J-model affecting it. I don't know what the whole deal is, but I dug around a bit:

HDPVR not connecting to EyeTV

Alt Program, Trial

I'm not sure what the latest Version of EyeTV is, but it should be at least 3.4.3. Newer HDPVRs aren't working w/ older versions of EyeTV. Anyway, you should be able to check for updates on EyeTV right from the menu.
You might also wanna update the firmware for your HDPVR (If necessary) but afaik you'd need a windows PC to do so. Get some flimsy pretext to visit Kuzu, I guess? ^_-

Edit: Oops. LOL. After looking a bit more, I saw a user w/ a diff product ID, w/ the response "you may have purchased Japanese model."

Me: huh. Sounds just like the problem red is... Wait! that is red!

I dunno man. That's pretty goofy it it doesn't work w/ it.
Edit 2: Ehh... Looks like you're SOL. Can't believe they'd make a distinction. Was hoping they'd have some sexy hardware hack that you could do &...
Just to clarify, you could only record in HD via theater mode, right? (any game that has it) That might be something you wanna consider before you make a decision.

Hehe. Thanks for putting in the time to try & help, Guz! And yes, that was ME. LOL. I'm definitely SOL in regards to the set-up I'm rocking right now. (>_<) I also have already tried the HDPVRCapture. The software doesn't recognize the HDPVR either. Talk about all the wrong moves!

Well, the woman & I went out and bought a pretty buff laptop yesterday. It should be able to do everything both of us need. We had to actually order from Dell cuz of the specs I needed cuz none of the ready-to-go laptops for sale had a graphics card able to handle capping.

So, if this doesn't work...FUCK IT ALL TO HELL.

can u clarify a bit more, *exactly* what things u bought?
do u mean the actual Hauppauge HD PVR is a japanese version? or just the peripheral programs that u got? (Eye-tv or w/e)

did u get TotalMediaExtreme (from Arcsoft) included with ur PVR? this is what came as a disc with mine. not sure if its Mac compatible. anyways, like i said, the shit didnt work for me the first time i tried. nor about the 50th time. it was frustrating as hell to get it to work, and it was not easy.

i had the same problem u had; software didnt recognize the PVR. read up about "shaking hands" or whatever its called. i forget the technical shit. but u need to check that the USB is being recognized. u gotta go into the device manager (windows) and make sure the PVR usb is recognized by name, not just plugged in. this is what had me in fits. also, the order of turning shit on (as in PC up & running, then PVR, then PS3 or other?) is what affected things also, it seems.

i went out and bought a new graphics card as well, but i probably didnt even need to. anyways, this was one of the most frustrating electronic-related setups ive ever had. i guess my only advice is that um, good luck? it might be something else u overlooked?

I don't wanna speak for red, esp cause I don't know the whole setup, but it just won't work from the looks of it. The two programs that allow a HDPVR to work on a Mac just won't w/ a Japanese HDPVR.

As a general tip, Windows tends to associate specific USB ports to specific hardware. You should always use the same one you installed it on. As an example, my recorder & PC Mic will not work unless they are plugged in to the proper port. & if it can be avoided, try to use diff ports for everything.

Thanks for the heads up on this shit. I haven't had a Windows based computer since university. I'll keep this in mind when I start installing stuff. (^_-)b

Yeah, NP. I messed up the last bit, as I meant to say "so if it can be avoided, don't use the same port for everything."
But you got the idea, so it's all good!

watched a few of ur vids red. good tactical shit.

i noticed on (i think it was *gettings dogs 3*) vid that u used SoH and dual mags. do u really feel u need both for uber-fast reload, especially if ur using an SMG? it DID reload like, fucking fast though. i might go try this out. thoughts?

You are the second person that has called my play 'tactical'. What does that mean? Could you expand a bit, because I would never describe my play as that. I don't really know how I'd describe it, however...

Was that with an SMG? If you are talking about '3', I'm pretty sure it was an AK47. Either way, in general, I tend to pair SoH with AR's & Steady Aim with SMG's. I do this because the way I play the weapons are a different, as they are primarily designed for Medium & CQB, respectively. In CQB I don't want to waste time ADSing & with some distance I'd like to have ADS advantage.

I use Dual Mags for the extra ammo that they offer. It's great for FFA's, such that I don't have to switch up weapons before getting DOGS & don't need Scavenger to there. The Dual Mags + SoH benefits are purely coincidental, but quite advantageous especially in FFA cuz of the probability of running into random enemies.

At least, this is how I see it. (^_-)b

yah lol i think i actual saw that post which is why it made me think of it. well, to me, tactical means using ur noggin. it means knowing the right timing for everything. it means playing smart. as for concrete examples of what u did: earning a spy plane, but stay in a corner those 2 seconds before it gets activated so u dont die just as u use it. staying behind a box/wall/cover when firing longer distances. using stun grenades to flush out enemies or, well, stun them lol. staying more safe for the last 1-2 kills to make sure u get a blackbird. taking side routes instead of the middle. not exposing urself. knowing ur surroundings.

yah it was "dogs 3" and ur right, it was an AK47. u had SoH pro and dual mags, and the shit (even the *even* reload, was FUCKING fast. the *odd* reload was basically instant..!!!) was so quick it looked unbelievable.

yep SoH is my most important perk. prob cuz i have less than desirable aiming, so it saves me from dying when im reloading. i dont even think the SoH pro really effects me much, since my TV input lag basically negates its pros.
when i use SMGs (i should explain, when i do well, which is rare lately) i still like SoH on them because i will be pushing the enemies spawn/flanking. therefore i will inevitably by facing multiple bogies. if i take out one sucker, there are sure to be more just around the corner, so i like SoH to keep me ready for the next dood.

i dont often use Dual Mags. what is the exact ammo benefit? if someone would be so kind, pls remind me the next time we play to try SoH+dual mags! i forgot to do it last night.
