GJ w/ The Dual Commentary Guys. You Recorded It Audio The Same Way?
It Was Cool To See Sugar There, But He Didn't Kill Eiither Of You... Which Is Lame!

When Can We Expect Vids From You Kuzu? If You're Working On An Intro & Stuff, That's Fine, But Maybe You Could Post Up A Vid Sooner Rather Than Later?

recorder is in the mail.
but just now, after pulling out my wires and taking a look behind my Tv box, i realized i dont have component input/output... which i need if i want to use the Hauppauge. hmm. so i might have just wasted 200$. nice.
need to see if there is another way to connect it, or if there are converters from component ends to ?? ends.

if not, im gonna be pissed for a while.

edit in detail.
cant use HDMI with any external recorders. so i bought AVmulti(ps3) to component, which plugs into HVR. then i need to go from HVR to TV with components as well.

component has 5 cables. green, red, blue + red/white audio
composite is your standard 3 cable red/white/yellow

i just read, that they might be interchangeable (composite and component). but while that may be true, i am not willing to go from 1080/720 HD quality down to 480 SD. SD on a big tv just looks incredibly bad. no way.

edit2
on an australian cnet review, it says my TV model has 1 set of component outputs. but i didnt see it.. wtf

edit3
semi wtf, semi good news. i have a plasma HD tv, but it doesnt have traditional component cables. what it does have is a D-4 terminal, which can play up to 720p. im willing to use that. so i think i found out that most japanese gaming systems (gamecube, wii) use these plugs, so i think i can find one really cheap. heres praying it all works,..
Note; they would work, but even Wii only allows 480p. not that anyone cares? lol

it seems on our commentary vid i'm about a 1 second delay on cue.. but oh well. And do I really sound like that in actual games? fuck me! lol

Wouldn't it be cool if we had a quady comm. would that be possible to do?

Kuzu, It May Be Possible To Use Both. Use HDMI; PS3 To TV, Like You've Been, & Component; PS3 To PVR.

You Would Just Need To Get Something Like This:
http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-3-Component-AV-Cable/dp/B000MIXFWA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1275807710&sr=8-1-spell

I'm Not Certain It Would Work, But It Can Be Investigated Further. I'm Fairly Confident It Would Though..

Duxy: Really? Seemed Absolutely Fine To Me!

Edit: Nevermind That. I Is Dumb.

dux: the triple or quad comm is doable, it just depends on other factors.
1. size of vid file. i dont think this is the biggest problem, since our voices would just be .wav or .mp3 tracks that just get layered onto the vid. as long as they fit within youtube standards, it should be no prob.
2. using skype. im not even sure how to skype with 3 ppl. i *think* its possible, but the few times ive tried it with my parents/bro, we couldnt get it to work. (a proper check on google would be wise, though)
3. lag issues. the more ppl we have talking thru skype (or hey, i just thought of it, PSN!) the more lag it will be. which is not the end of the world, but it would mean u may have a 1-2 second lag between what u see and what u say.

guz: i love that u support my irrational explanations and attempts to understand shit which i do not understand!
FYI i already bought that cable. that goes from the PS3 to Hauppauge. next, since my tv doesnt support traditional RBG cables, i had to buy a RBG->D-Terminal cable, which was about 30$ for 3m cable. thank god though, i think i got everything under control! i was about to pee in my pants with anger, but everything worked out (that is, ON PAPER at least. hooking it up for real will be the next challenge...) anyways, thanks for the effort buddy. hopefully ill get the recorder in a week or 2.
edit: i didnt explain it well at all. the reason just one cable is not enough is because video can only be output to one place. hence, i cant output to PVR AND to the tv. so all vid output is going thru HVR. so when it loops back, i have to either use regular RWY rca cables (composite shit ones) or the RBG component. oh, and i can hook up optical in/out to HVR, so i dont lose any sound quality when playing.

Yeah, NP. Honestly I Have Difficulty Visualizing The Setup For These Types Of Things; I Need To Be There Actually Putting It All Together. I Had To Look Up D-Terminal (Never Heard Of It, Guess It Makes Sense Being A "J" Connection) But It Appears To Be The Japanese Equivalent Of Component. Which I Guess Is Why Your TV Lacks Component Hookups.

I Definitely Think You Are On The Right Track.

i think my package came yesterday, but wife wasnt home. should get it tonite. ya boyee. oh but i still need to wait for the stupid component/D-terminal cable. damn it.

red: i know i will be recording in 720p, which will obviously make files larger than ur 320 or 480, but i was wondering something. assuming that u just keep the record button on and record all games within a X-amount of time, how much memory does that take up on your computer? can u give me an example? (2hrs or 4hrs of full recording = ?? Gb). i have some space, but if i need a crap load, i will need to delete movies (dont want to do that) or pr0n. both very hard choices!
