| Well I just downloaded and installed the patch. Couldn't think of much of it I was 3-4 green bars but still noticed I was a choppy. And watching my deaths on Death cam, It didn't match to what I saw. Couldn't get a real good judgement as I only played for a little, but was probably because I was playing international servers. They havent fixed the footsteps yet.. Hacker pro FTW:

| Sorry, back in tune with the thread my sensitivity is 6 on this new game. Its pretty comfortable at 6, could play higher I suppose but I dont really see the need yet... Dux, Im starting to wonder about the footsteps. Im kinda enjoying the game now as it is, without them - kinda like a 4 th (default) perk for everyone, leaving the 3rd perk, minus ninja there to be played around with. If/Once they introduce footsteps, I wll be ninja all teh time, and that takes some of the fun out of toying with hacker, etc. Claymores all over, etc.. dont know. Cant say what itll be like once footsteps are tinkered with. At first it took some getting used to playing without footsteps, but now... I wonder if footsteps will make the game more camptastic... I wonder how u guys feel about this at this stage.

| i dont think they will make a drastic change with this.
i hope they will make a small adjustment, so u can at least hear a guy climbing a ladder, then walking on a metal roof before he shanks you in the back. i basically agree with u ban. i dont want it to be full MW2 sounds like before. i think it will be over the top. so in the end, i hope only Ninja Pro makes the sound like it was in MW2. otherwise, i hope it will be at 1/2 volume, but more than absolutely no sound like it is now.

| As it is now, they really need footsteps IMO. In so doing it will alleviate some other problems with the game. After playing a bit, I think anything lower than 5 (at least if your running about) is too slow. You need to be able to turn quickly enough, Another nerd note, my buddy Mr. Joey is going to hook me up w/ fastpath! So the game should be more enjoyable *crosses fingers!*

and for those of us who dont know what the hell fastpath is and are too lazy to look it up: "FastPath is a technology with DSL that allows for lower latency, many times double to triple times less than on Interleaved. It's free to get onto it if you don't have it (look at your modem line stats), and all you need to do is ask Verizon for it either by phone (mention gaming to them) or here at Verizon Direct . Verizon when I first got service had me and everyone else on Interleaved. Several months ago however, DSL went out on the RT that feeds my area for a few minutes, and when it came back, everyone including me who could take it had FastPath, and our bills never changed."

Yeah! If my ping drops from ~80ms to ~40ms, I'm sure it will cutdown quite alot on those BS gunfights that I lose. Or those ones where I get ~6 bullets into a guy & he still manages to knife me. I especially love those. When it happens, I get sparkles in my eyes & think to myself: "What a skilled player! hopefully I'll be that good one day... someday..." Al, take both of these, while your internet isn't being used by anyone & choose the closest server to you. but last night, i wasnt recording so i used HDMI quality (plugged into the TV headphone jack) and it was a total reversal.
i dont think i was using extraordinarily loud volume. cuz even when i got naded or toobed, it wasnt like it made my ears bleed (that is my cutoff point, lol). i do keep volume quite high in general though. so, last night i could hear absolutely everything around me, as well or even more clearly than in mw2. i wasnt even running ninja at all, and i could hear footsteps very very easily. about connections, im just as frustrated as ever. i have been host quite alot, even when playing against Euros and Yanks. ive had times when im the only 4 bar, and everyone else is yellow. though i should be owning these 1v1 encounters, i have as much lag (or worse even) than when i have yellow or even red possibly. its hard to explain. its a different type of lag. i guess my system cant handle all the packets of data, so in fact when i go 1v1 on these guys with 4bars and them 2bars, the replay shows them clearly hitting their shots on target while im off by 5 feet. i have no idea whats going on here. but its disheartening knowing that being host makes me lag even more than usual. i think the only time i can perform lagfree is when i have others from japan in the room, and have 4 bars.

I'm still confused as well. TBH I don't understand how the whole process works. Or at least it doesn't seem to work how you'd think, at times. Is the game released in Japan yet? Even though you connect overseas, the games where you play other Japanese are probably the best this game can possibly get; the connection standard is so high there & everyone is geographically close.

| well for COD4 and MW2, i could play reasonable well @3 bars when connecting to west coast players. though, like last night, we were all 3 bars, which means it was again probably west coast USA since Guz is eastern, im in japan, and host must have been in the middle between us. but i felt alot of lag in that game. well, i have another problem or point of concern. u know in the menu, u can see ur connection info? it lists ur IP address, some other stuff, and it says my point of connection is "US". um, no, it isnt? i have the US game, but yah... red/ban, how about urs?

it may be on the main menu, before u choose the Game mode, private match, theater mode, etc.
i forget, but its on one of the main menus. u need to press triangle or start or something hidden, its not something listed in big letters. (in the fineprint on the bottom)
